Still Standing For Freedom

As most of our fans will know, the Freedom Center of Missouri took a brief hiatus in 2013 while Dave was focusing on his work with the Freedom Foundation.  But even when he was out on the West Coast, Dave continued to fight on behalf of Missourians.  In early 2013 he argued Brooke Gray’s animal husbandry case in front of Missouri’s Western District Court of Appeals.  In May and June he spoke to Missouri media about the big cases the U.S. Supreme Court was deciding.  In September Dave traveled to Jefferson City to testify about Missouri’s Second Amendment Preservation Act, part of which he had helped to draft.  And in early 2014 Dave helped a group of Missourians sue Governor Nixon for refusing to fulfill his constitutional obligation to call for special elections to fill vacancies in the General Assembly.

Earlier this year Dave and Jenifer decided that Washington State simply was not a good fit for them, and they returned to Missouri.  Almost immediately after arriving back in the state, Dave got the Freedom Center of Missouri back into the thick of the battle for limited government and individual liberty, taking up the cause of Natalie Vowell, a candidate for state legislator whom Secretary of State Jason Kander was trying to keep off the ballot for the August primary elections.  After six weeks of constant, high-pressure litigation against the Attorney General’s office, the Freedom Center won a unanimous decision in Ms. Vowell’s favor from the Western District Court of Appeals.

So Dave and Jenifer could once again use any financial support you could offer to help them continue the fight for individual liberty and limited government here in Missouri.  And if you are aware of a particular government abuse that might make for a good Freedom Center case, please let us know!
